Since then Ger and the team have been extremely proactive in the Cork area and surrounding counties in meeting new and old customers alike and has influenced the growth of our customer base.  This is a great  achievement in the current climate.

The depot is now part of one of Ireland’s leading industrial services providers operating throughout the country offering specialised industrial services to local authorities, private industry and domestic customers. With our HQ in Thurles the vast majority of our industrial services have an environmental focus.

Due to the nature of this work it is essential that we adhere to specific policies, one of which is the Confined Spaces Policy:

The term Confined Space means any place, including any vessel, tank, container, vat, silo, hopper, pit, bund, trench, pipe, sewer, flue, well, chamber, compartment, cellar or other similar space which, by virtue of its enclosed nature creates conditions which may cause accident, harm or injury and require emergency action due to –

(A) the presence or reasonably foreseeable presence of:

(i) flammable or explosive atmospheres e.g. high oxygen content

(ii) harmful gas, fume or vapour e.g. methane gas

(iii) free flowing solid or an increasing level of liquid e.g. waste water/water

(iv) excess of oxygen

(v) excessively high temperature

(B) the lack or reasonably foreseeable lack of oxygen

As a result all confined spaces will then be classified into high, medium and low risk, and a procedure will be developed in accordance with the risk level. This means all such projects must be planned and completed in compliance with the relevant confined space procedure and require the efforts of many different staff members across the board.

You should be careful when choosing who you hire to perform your tank cleaning as they should have the correct certification, and have the right knowledge and experience to provide a successful cleaning experience.
